Thetis lake

Saturday we decided to go for a cruise with the car and try to find a place to swim. And we found it!. We found Thetis lake... it's such a cool lake in the middle of a really green forest! We walked around the lake before we found a good spot to lay, quiet and easy to jump into the water. It was great, we brought some fruit with us and our books and we spent our afternoon like lizards by the water.

El sabado decidimos ir a dar una vuelta con el coche e intentar encontrar algun sitio donde nadar. Y lo encontramos! Dimos con el lago Thetis.... es un lago muy chulo en el medio de un bosque muy verde. Caminamos alrededor del lago antes de encontrar un buen sitio para tumbarnos, tranquilo y facil de acceder el agua. Estuvo genial, llevamos fruta con nosotros, nuestros libros y pasamos la tarde como lagartos tomando el sol cerca del agua.

Habemus coche

Antes de marcharnos de Calgary vendimos nuestro coche, la razón? porque cuando llevas un coche de otra provincia a la provincia de British Columbia tienes que hacer una inspección especial, y cuesta una pasta y no queríamos pasar por eso... Encontramos a alguien que nos pago la misma cantidad por la que lo habíamos comprado, asi que nos deshicimos de el.

Si vives en Victoria no tienes que tener un coche necesariamente...se puede llegar a todas partes caminando... pero nosotros queremos ir de acampada y a visitar otros sitios alrededor de esta isla... así que hemos comprado otro coche. Es un Mazda Protege5, del año 2002!

Before we left Calgary we sold our car, the reason? because when you move to BC and your car is from another province you have to get a special inspection on it... so we decided to just sell it. We found somebody that gave us the same amount that we payed for it, so we just let it go...

If you live in Victoria, you don't necessarily need a car, you can get anywhere walking...but we are planning some camping trips, so we bought a new car. Is a Mazda Protege5 2002.

Our new life in Victoria

We have been living in Victoria more or less 3 weeks! The first days were a bit difficult for us, but now we are settled in and we are liking it more and more.

We went for a ride with a boat-taxi around the harbour, you easily go from one side to the other in no time. In the harbour you can also find big cruise ships that come with loads of tourists every week and also water planes. It's such an entertaining harbour!

The province of BC is known for the amazing forest everywhere! Because there is also deers all over the place, the other day I saw one in the parking lot of the supermarket!

This weekend we went to see the Kinsol Trestle, is a huge bridge just made of wood, it was build in 1920 is the largest wooden trestle in the Commonwealth and one of the highest railway trestles in the world. This bridge burned down and they had to rebuild it.

We went couple of days to the beach, but the waters in the Pacific ocean are so cold! I'm not brave enough to swim there...

Llevamos viviendo en Victoria mas o menos 3 semanas! Tuvimos un comienzo un poco dificil, pero ahora estamos mas adaptados a esta nueva vida.

Hemos ido de paseo en un pequeño barco que los utilizan de taxi de un lado de la ciudad al otro. En el puerto a parte de trasatlánticos y pequeños barco taxi, hay aviones que despegan y aterrizan en el agua. Es uno de los puertos mas entretenidos que he visto en mi vida!

La provincia de British Columbia es conocida por sus increibles bosques, inmensos arboles... y animalillos por todas partes, el otro dia fui a hacer la compra y habia un ciervo en el parking del supermercado!

Este fin de semana fuimos a ver el kinsol trestle, que es un puente totalmente construido en madera, fue construido en 1920, y solia ser un puente para el tren, es el mas largo de los paises componente de la commonwealth. Este puente ardio completamente y lo han tenido que reconstruir, la inauguración fue solo hace un par de dias.

Hemos ido un par de dias a la playa, pero las aguas del oceano pacifico a esta latitud te corta la digestion hasta de comidas ya digeridas! Asi que solo paseamos por la orilla...

Bueno... eso es todo por ahora.
